On the evening of December 31, the “Creating Harmony, Soaring on the Pearl River” — 2008 New Year’s Gala was held at the Pearl River Company. All company leaders and more than 400 employees attended the gala. The models showcased outfits ranging from graceful and delicate to flowing and ethereal, from regally elegant to softly enchanting, offering their colleagues an awe-inspiring visual feast that truly captivated everyone.

At 2:28 p.m. on May 12, a magnitude-7.8 earthquake struck Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province. According to incomplete statistics, the earthquake has already claimed the lives of more than ten thousand people. Premier Wen Jiabao described it as a “particularly severe earthquake disaster.” The devastation has deeply touched the hearts of people across the country, and the entire nation is now launching a rescue effort characterized by the spirit of “when one place is in trouble, all corners of the country come to its aid.” Today, our company is launching the campaign “Caring for the Earthquake-Stricken Area—Let’s All Donate!” As soon as colleagues learned about this initiative, they responded with great enthusiasm and excitement, eagerly making donations to lend a helping hand to the victims in the Sichuan earthquake zone! We firmly believe that as long as the Chinese people unite—contributing money if we have it, resources if we have them, and strength if we can—we can overcome this challenge together!

The 3rd Qiangzhu Cup Games

At 8:30 a.m. on December 31, the 3rd Qiangzhu Cup Sports Competition was solemnly opened to warm applause from all employees of Zhujiang! This year’s competition featured a wide variety of events, including team tug-of-war, women’s tug-of-war, men’s tug-of-war, men’s table tennis, Chinese chess, jump rope, women’s three-person four-legged race, men’s three-person four-legged race, hula-hoop walking, relay races, and a 1,000-meter long-distance run—drawing in many enthusiastic athletes! After a day of intense competition, winners were announced for each event. The athletes from Zhujiang were all brimming with joy. This event was not only a gathering of unity but also a celebration of victory, fully showcasing the spirit and strength of all the company’s employees.
